      <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">

Background. The relevance of the study is due to the contradiction between the inevitable digitalization of childhood and the lack of scientifically based methods for using gadgets in the educational process. A specific "disharmonious" development profile of modern preschoolers is recorded, characterized by a gap between developed visual perception and a deficit in auditory-verbal memory and inhibition functions. The theoretical significance of the work is based on L.S. Vygotsky's cultural-historical concept and A.R. Luria's neuropsychological approach. We view the digital device not as a risk factor, but as a modern "psychological tool" which, subject to media hygiene principles, can effectively mediate the development of higher mental functions. The hypothesis is based on the assumption that regulated digital training accelerates the process of internalizing external control, transferring interface commands into the internal plane of the child's voluntary regulation, thereby compensating for the identified developmental deficits. Purpose. To substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of using specialized digital cognitive trainers (using the BrainApps platform as an example) in the development of regulatory functions in children aged 6–7 years, subject to media safety criteria. Materials and methods. The main research method is a formative experiment. The study involved 55 pupils of the preparatory group (6–7 years old). To assess the dynamics, the neuropsychological battery NEPSY-II (subtests for inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, and working memory) was used. During the work, the author's model of organizing the digital environment "The Rule of 4 Cs" (Content, Control of time, Quality of feedback (Commentary), Cognitive interface) was introduced. Results. Initial diagnostics revealed a low level of inhibitory control in 38.2% and auditory-verbal memory in 27.3% of children. Following the developmental work, positive dynamics were recorded: the proportion of children with a low level of inhibition decreased to 23.6%, and auditory-verbal memory to 14.5%. The obtained data confirm that a digital tool, with methodologically competent support, acts as an effective means of internalizing external control and training volition.
