A person's worldview, as a system of fundamental beliefs, has a comprehensive impact on their perception of the world and new information, their assessment of the behavior of others, and their opinions on many socially important issues. International research on worldviews is much broader than domestic research, so its analysis and critical understanding can be useful for developing domestic concepts and methods.</p> <p>Purpose – to analyze contemporary international psychological research on worldviews and to identify and describe the most important areas.</p> <p>Materials and methods. The Scilit.com database was searched for english-language psychological research articles on worldviews published between 2016 and 2025. The articles were then systematized by topic, and the largest area was identified and described.</p> <p>Results. Three major thematic areas were identified: social worldview, ecological worldview, and religious worldview, including the topic of death. The most extensive area is "social worldview"; it includes beliefs about the structure of society and social relations, ideological and socio-political beliefs of respondents. The most influential areas are highlighted (with an indication of the approximate number of scientific articles over the past 10 years). 1. Fundamental ideological beliefs: Right-Wing Authoritarianism (330) and Social Dominance Orientation (700). 2. Basic beliefs about the social world: Dangerous World Belief (140), Competitive-jungle World Belief (150), Zero-Sum Belief – belief that social world is a zero-sum game (90). 3. Four types of worldviews according to cultural theory: individualism, hierarchism, egalitarianism, fatalism (200). For each area, theoretical propositions, diagnostic methods, and the results of recent empirical research are briefly reviewed.</p> <p>Conclusions. In international psychology, the topic of worldview is viewed as belonging to psychology, not just philosophy and other social sciences. According to the presented empirical data, people's beliefs regarding the structure of society are linked to their beliefs regarding other sociopolitical and environmental issues. It is emphasized that the patterns confirmed in samples from Western societies are not always confirmed in samples from Eastern societies due to differences in mentalities, the relevance of diagnostic methods issues, and the level of sociopolitical disagreements within society. Consequently, not all the presented theories and empirical patterns can be confirmed in Russian samples. Therefore, they can be considered as ideas for developing a domestic psychology of worldviews, incorporating issues important to Russian society.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Обоснование.
