The urgency of the problem is due to the importance of identifying integrated personality characteristics that describe typical human behaviors, as well as factors that determine their manifestation and functioning. Such characteristics include traits of the Dark (Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy) and Light (faith in humanity, humanism, Kantianism) personality triads.</p> <p>Purpose. Identification of psychological features of the interrelation of irrational beliefs with the features of the Dark and Light personality triads among students.</p> <p>Materials and methods. The empirical study involved 174 students and undergraduates from Moscow City Pedagogical University and Cherepovets State University in various fields of study, with an average age of 21 (SD=4.1), 84 men (48.28%). The questionnaire (list) of irrational beliefs by A. Beck and A. Freeman, the Short Questionnaire of the Dark Triad by D. N. Jones and D. L. Paulhus adapted by M. S. Egorova, M. A. Sitnikova, O.V. Parshikova, and the questionnaire of the Light Triad by S. B. Kaufman et al. were used as diagnostic tools. adapted by D. S. Kornienko, V. K. Vyazovkina, A. N. Nevryuev.</p> <p>Results. Based on empirical research, positive and negative relationships of irrational beliefs with the features of the Dark and Light personality triads, mediated by gender differences were established. In the male sample, positive relationships were found between avoidant-type beliefs and psychopathy, antisocial-type beliefs and Machiavellianism, narcissistic-type beliefs and narcissism, and obsessive-compulsive-type beliefs and humanism. In the female sample, histrionic and narcissistic beliefs were positively associated with both Machiavellianism and narcissism, while dependent-type beliefs were positively associated with Kantianism. Negative relationships were found between narcissistic-type irrational beliefs and Kantianism, and schizoid-type beliefs and humanism.</p> <p>Conclusion. The conducted research allows us to conclude that the manifestation of certain features of the Dark and Light triads in students is closely interrelated with the severity of irrational beliefs, and this relationship varies significantly among students depending on gender. The results obtained can be used in working with students in the process of building an individual trajectory of self-development.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Обоснование. Полученные результаты могут быть использованы в работе со студентами в процессе выстраивания индивидуальной траектории саморазвития.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>irrational beliefs</kwd><kwd>Dark triad</kwd><kwd>Light triad</kwd><kwd>Machiavellianism</kwd><kwd>narcissism</kwd><kwd>psychopathy</kwd><kwd>faith in humanity</kwd><kwd>humanism</kwd><kwd>Kantianism</kwd><kwd>students</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>иррациональные убеждения</kwd><kwd>Темная триада</kwd><kwd>Светлая триада</kwd><kwd>макиавеллизм</kwd><kwd>нарциссизм</kwd><kwd>психопатия</kwd><kwd>вера в человечество</kwd><kwd>гуманизм</kwd><kwd>кантианство</kwd><kwd>студенты</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Bek, A., &amp; Freeman, A.
