Обоснование. Проектное обучение иностранному языку в высшей школе является продуктивной образовательной технологией, так как способствует овладению иноязычной коммуникативной компетенцией, формированию исследовательских навыков, критического и творческого мышления обучающихся, а также профессиональной компетенции будущих специалистов. Цель – выявить преимущества проектных заданий на иностранном языке с применением современных цифровых технологий, обусловленные участием студентов в межвузовских конкурсах и тем самым показать целесообразность использования проектного обучения иностранному языку в вузе. Материалы и методы. В ходе исследования был применен эмпирический метод, позволивший представить результаты практического опыта участия студентов Ростовского государственного университета путей сообщения (РГУПС) в Межвузовском конкурсе мультимедийных презентаций, постеров и видеосюжетов на иностранном языке «Роль транспортных инноваций в развитии новых туристических направлений», организованным Российским университетом транспорта РУТ (МИИТ) в 2024-2025 учебном году, а также во Всероссийском конкурсе видеопроектов на иностранных языках «Мой университет», проводимом Сибирским государственным университетом путей сообщения (СГУПС) с 2023 по 2025 годы. Методы анализа и синтеза, обобщения и сравнения дают возможность изложить основное содержание научных исследований отечественных и зарубежных авторов, отразить этапы проведения студенческих конкурсов, требования к выполнению проектных заданий и критерии их оценивания, выявить последовательность действий при выполнении проектной работы во избежание ошибок и представить итоги участия студентов РГУПС в конкурсах. Результаты. Анализ проектных заданий студентов, выполненных в качестве конкурсных, показал, что все работы отличаются друг от друга своей индивидуальностью, особым творческим подходом, несмотря на общие условия конкурса и одинаковые требования к выполнению задания. Правильный выбор наиболее приемлемого способа представления результатов проектной деятельности посредством современных цифровых технологий помогает участникам наиболее полно раскрыть тему и наглядно представить результаты исследования, тем самым произвести большее впечатление на жюри конкурса. Благоприятная обстановка соревнования способствует формированию высокого уровня ответственности и самоорганизации, в то же время развивает умение работы в команде, повышает мотивацию к выполнению проектной деятельности и изучению иностранного языка в целом, что свидетельствует об эффективном применении проектного обучения иностранному языку в высшей школе в рамках участия в межвузовских конкурсах.
Background. Project-oriented foreign language training in higher school is a productive educational technology, as it promotes the acquisition of foreign language communicative competence, the development of research skills, critical and creative thinking of trainees, as well as the professional competence of future specialists. Purpose. The purpose of the research is to identify the advantages of project-oriented assignments in a foreign language using modern digital technologies, resulting from student participation in various interuniversity competitions, and thereby to demonstrate the feasibility of using a project-oriented method for teaching a foreign language in higher education. Materials and methods. During the study the empirical method was used that allowed presenting the results of practical experience of Rostov State Transport University (RSTU) students' participating in the Interuniversity competition of multimedia presentations, posters and videos in a foreign language, "The Role of Transport Innovations in the Development of New Tourist Destinations," held by the Russian University of Transport (MIIT) in the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as the All-Russian foreign language video project competition, "My University," organized by the Siberian State Transport University (SSU) from 2023 to 2025. Methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization, and comparison give the opportunity to present the main content of scientific research by domestic and foreign authors, consider the stages of student competitions, requirements for project assignments, and evaluation criteria, identify the sequence of actions during the project work for avoiding typical mistakes, and present the results of RSTU students' participation in the competitions. Results. The analysis of student project assignments completed for the competition revealed that each project was distinct in its individuality and unique creative approach, despite the general competition conditions and identical requirements for an assignment. The careful selection of the most appropriate method for presenting project results using modern digital technologies helps participants to fully reveal the topic and clearly present their research findings, thereby to make a greater impression on the competition jury. The favourable competition environment promotes a high level of responsibility and self-organization, as well as developing teamwork skills and increasing motivation for project work and foreign language learning in general. This demonstrates the effective use of project-oriented foreign language teaching in higher school within participation in interuniversity competitions.
