In the context of digital transformation in education, the development of digital competencies among prospective teachers has become a key requirement of professional standards. Particular importance is attached to the readiness of foreign language teachers to independently develop digital educational resources using artificial intelligence tools.</p> <p>Purpose. To analyse the dynamics of digital competency development among students pursuing pedagogical degrees during their university education and to evaluate the effectiveness of the course “Workshop on Developing an Electronic Educational and Methodological Complex” (EEMC) as a means of fostering professionally relevant digital skills.</p> <p>Materials and methods. The study involved 68 students enrolled in the “Pedagogical Education” programme (“Foreign Languages”), distributed across years of study. The level of digital competence was assessed using an adapted questionnaire based on the international DigCompEdu framework, comprising 25 competencies, 14 of which were identified as target competencies. Statistical data processing was carried out using descriptive statistics, paired samples t-test, and effect size calculation (Cohen’s d).</p> <p>Results. A positive trend in digital competency development was identified: the mean score increased from 3.35 (Year 1) to 4.15 (Year 5), representing a 23.9% improvement (t=10.42, p&lt;0.001). The most significant progress was observed in the course’s target competencies: file systematisation (+41.2%), content refinement based on feedback (+40.6%), and optimisation of learning activities (+36.7%). The effect size was d=2.77, indicating high effectiveness of the educational intervention.</p> <p>Conclusions. The course “Workshop on Developing an EEMC” demonstrates high efficacy in fostering technical-communicative and project-based digital competencies among prospective teachers. The findings support the integration of practice-oriented modules focused on creating digital educational resources into teacher training programmes.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Обоснование. Полученные данные подтверждают целесообразность интеграции практико-ориентированных модулей по созданию цифровых образовательных ресурсов в программу педагогической подготовки.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>цифровая компетентность педагога</kwd><kwd>DigCompEdu</kwd><kwd>электронный учебно-методический комплекс</kwd><kwd>искусственный интеллект в образовании</kwd><kwd>проектная деятельность</kwd><kwd>подготовка учителей иностранных языков</kwd><kwd>цифровая педагогика</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>teacher digital competence</kwd><kwd>DigCompEdu</kwd><kwd>electronic educational and methodological complex</kwd><kwd>artificial intelligence in education</kwd><kwd>project-based learning</kwd><kwd>foreign language teacher training</kwd><kwd>digital pedagogy</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Babenko, S.
